Soviet poet, singer, so called "bard". Studied journalism in Sverdlovsk University, in 1984 moved to Moscow, then Leningrad where took part in underground concerts of Soviet rock musicians. Bashlachev creative work was significant part of Leningrad's Rock-Klub and Soviet unauthorized rock-music movement which was legalized by Gorbachev's perestroika as youngster's cry for social changes. He felt himself lonely and committed suicide by falling from window. Bashlachev's work gained legendary status among fans of Soviet rock music. Audio and video recordings of his concerts (primarily the famous "lodgers") became the subject of collecting.
