Czech poet, librettist, literary and musical critic. He was born into the family of a cantor and received a musical education, which influenced all his subsequent and literary work. He saw his vocation in the work of a literary, musical and theatrical critic and reviewer; Chmelinsky composes music and poems for songs for the choir, among them those that later became folk songs.
