Soviet and Russian violinist, teacher and composer. A child prodigy, since the age of 5 he has performed in public concerts in Kharkiv, Rostov and Yekaterinoslav. He graduated from the Moscow Conservatory (1904, violin class of I.V. Grzhimali). Laureate of the Moscow Violin Competition (1910). Since 1910 – teacher of the music school of the Kiev branch of the Russian Musical Society (reorganized into a conservatory in 1913), where he simultaneously led a quartet. He often performed as a soloist and conductor in Kiev and other cities. Was perfected by E. Ysay. Since 1920 he lived and worked in Krasnodar, where he organized and headed the musical theater committee, symphony orchestra, academic choir, drama and opera theaters and the Kuban Conservatory. Since 1922 he lived in Moscow, performing a lot. Since 1935 – Professor at the Moscow Conservatory. As a composer, he is the author of a number of compositions for violin, violin transcriptions.
