Italian composer. He belonged to a famous family of musicians who worked in the Duchy of Massa and Carrara from the 16th to the 19th centuries. Guglielmi lived and worked in Florence, Padua, Turin and Venice. His operas were a hit with audiences, making the composer's name known throughout Europe. In the autumn of 1767, at the request of Felice Alessandri[it], he arrived in London, where he took the place of composer and conductor at the Royal Theater and held this position until 1772. The composer's creative heritage includes about 100 operas, 17 oratorios and cantatas, about 20 works of chamber music and 12 works of church music, numerous symphonies.
